writing strengths
Throughout this year, I have learned many things about my writing and my writing skills. There have been several things I have learned and excelled at in my writing. I feel that my writing strengths include: origination, conventions, and word choice. I feel like these subjects are my strongest concepts in my written work currently. I also feel that I have grown the most in these areas to make them my current strengths. In several of my papers, I have shown that these were my strengths.
I feel the best example of my writing skills was in my personal narrative. In this essay, I told a story about my childhood passion of playing on the monkey bars, and how that led to me meeting my best friend. In previous years of writing, I have always struggled with my organization, so for this essay, I decided to focus mainly on my arrangement. Throughout this paper, I found that my ideas, even though not portrayed clearly, were organized. I ordered this paper in chronological order which helped for the reader to keep interested with a sense of anticipation. Another strength in my writing is my conventions. I feel that "grammarly" and peer editing truly helped me in this area of my writing. I honestly think that my papers and essays were proofread and edited well so that my writing was strong in conventions. Lastly, I feel that my word choice is well built in my essays. I usually accomplish this through peer editing, and if I notice I repeat a word often, then I will find a good synonym for that word. I feel like my personal narrative shows this trait the best because of the similes and interesting synonyms I used throughout the essay. Overall. I feel like organization, conventions and my word choices are my biggest strengths as a writer.
