writing skills I have learned this year

I have learned so much about my self as a writer this year. I have learned about many things that I can carry on with me in my writing in the next coming years. I have learned the most about editing skills and being able to see different types of mistakes in papers. This comes in handy when proof reading my major essays because I have learned how to spot common grammar and formatting mistakes quickly. Another major thing I have learned in writing is what to include in specific types of papers. I have learned that in personal narratives, it is a must to add in details to make your reader feel as if they were experiencing the event them selves, and in Literary narratives, I learned that, when you analyze a quote, you have to introduce the quote, then state the quote, an then analyze the quote. Also, the quote has to be incorporated into one of your own sentences, and everything has to be in literary present tense.
I think all of these things I have learned, including the many other things I have learned, can help me with my future writing. I feel like these lessons in writing not only improved my writing skills, but also improved my reading skills. By becoming a articulate writer, I have also become a more analytical reader.
